Alta X- The Top Aerial Cinema Drone

PDS Media Group is proud to announce our latest cinema drone for aerial cinematography.  You really need the latest and greatest UAVs in your arsenal.  PDS Media Group has added the Alta X from Freefly Systems to its extensive list of high end equipment earlier this year.

Although DJI has other impressive drones, this drone can carry an impressive 35 lb payload which makes it perfect for flying cinema cameras.  It easily flies for 20 minutes with RED, ARRI, Panavision DXL2, Sony Venice, or other heavy lift cameras allowing you to shoot in RAW and giving you the ability to create stunning gradable footage.  With lighter cameras, the Alta X can fly up to 40 minutes.  This is quite an improvement from the Alta 8, which only allowed for a 20 lb payload and maximum flying time of approximately 8-10 minutes.

Staying up to date with the newest high-end cinema drones, PDS Media Group is the go to aerial media company for shooting drone (UAV) cinema footage.  Their experienced pilots and camera operators are available to film in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Albuquerque, New Orleans, Santa Fe, Wilmington, Nashville or anywhere else in the world!

For more information about their movie/film production experience and examples of work,  visit them at  PDS Media Group or give them a call at 615-513-9790 to discuss your upcoming cinematic production and our capabilities.

FAA Certified, Licensed & Insured Drone Pilots- Why do I need one?

FAA Certified, Licensed & Insured Drone Pilots- Why do I need one?

Since most companies don’t have the time, man power or know how to deal with the FAA regulations and the testing required to stay on the right side of the law, it’s a smart choice to hire a professional certified & insured UAS drone pilot. Once you have made the decision to hire a professional licensed UAV drone pilot, review their work and always ask to see their license and proof of insurance.  Over 1 million drones have been registered with the FAA but to date, only 100,000 pilots have received certificates from the FAA since the small drone rule went into effect in August of 2016.   This means that only 10% of the drones out there are actually able to fly for commercial use.
